The strategic placement of diffusers, considering ceiling height, furniture layout, and occupant presence, is crucial for achieving optimal thermal comfort. In spaces with high ceilings, ceiling diffusers can be used to distribute air more efficiently. It is also important to consider the possibility of installing Variable Air Volume (VAV) systems that allow adjusting the amount of air supplied to each zone based on its specific needs. These systems, controlled by smart thermostats, optimize energy consumption and improve comfort.
Regular maintenance of ducted HVAC systems is essential to ensure performance and prolong its lifespan. This includes cleaning or replacing air filters (typically every 3-6 months), inspecting ducts for leaks and ensuring proper sealing, and cleaning the central unit. Periodic inspections by qualified technicians are crucial to identify and resolve potential problems before they escalate into major breakdowns. Adequate preventative maintenance can significantly reduce repair costs and extend the lifespan of the installation. Furthermore, duct cleaning, performed with specialized equipment, helps remove dust, dirt, and allergens that can affect indoor air quality. Indoor air quality regulations (in constant evolution) demand rigorous control of these factors.
